Every year our fall event is taking the Special Ed. group to the Pumpkin Patch at Cox Farms. The bus was loaded with the group and away we went. Behind my drivers seat I could hear the sounds of the excitement as everyone was talking together and all at once as we rode down the street.
We were the first ones at Cox farm. We were blessed with perfect parking for every vehicle that was in our group. In all, there were thirty of us, seven of which were new faces! We were at Cox farm for an hour collecting pumpkins, petting animals and riding on the wagons pulled by a tractor. It was great fun for all.
After the pumpkin patch we all went back to South City Baptist Church and everyone painted their pumpkin and laughed and joked and had a lot of fun. We then ate our lunch and then had story time. Mike Morgan is a great story teller. He talked about Jesus and serving. How Jesus is our great example and how even at this event many of us were doing what Jesus did by helping each other. He talked about the ultimate sacrifice and the plan of salvation, planting seeds I would say. How we all can share the Word by example and sharing what we know about Jesus.
I know it was God who brought me to this ministry, but I want to thank all who were part of this plan. Praise God! Our next event will be at South City Baptist Church and will be the Christmas Party on December 11th from noon to 4p.m. Bring a gift and join the fun. Hope to see you there.
