Is Church Planting part of the Great Commission?

In the New Testament, new churches sprung up in areas where evangelism and outreach had been occurring.  We have been following this pattern in the Heart of Kansas Association area.  Men and women with an evangelistic zeal have gone into areas that were in need of additional evangelistic effort.  As a result, we have seen several new churches start in the past two years. Baptisms in church plants for the church year 2009 accounted for 25% of total association baptisms and will have a similar percent for 2010.  The association worship numbers for 2009 were increased by 496 because of church plants which represents 6.5 % of total worship.  In 2010 worship numbers for church plants will increase our association worship by 846.

For us, church planting is an integral part of the Great Commission.  Would you consider making this an even bigger part of our association by helping to start these new churches?  Please call Mark, 316-214-3647, for ideas about church planting or Loren, 316-706-8406 to discuss outreach.
