The first strategy of HOK churches must be prayer. Our mission is a spiritual mission which requires spiritual power. We do not battle flesh and blood, but spiritual forces. Ephesians 6:12 affirms for us that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Our mission as an association of churches will only be accomplished in proportion to the effort given in prayer. To think that we can experience success in the spiritual realm without the power of God that comes in response to the prayers of His people is both presumptuous and foolish.
