The Women's Conference was held on July 30 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. The KNCSB Women's Ministry State Consultants led conferences in the morning. Barbara Fox led a conference on Witnessing using the EvangeCube, and Lisa Beets lead a conference on Praying Effectually. Vashti Jones ran the Lifeway Bookstore. We enjoyed a salad luncheon at noon. We had eight conferences in the afternoon. We had four new conferences this year; Reaching the Hearts of Women for Christ led by Ernestine Reese; Falling Down and Getting Back Up led by Sandra Russell and Colleen Wilson; Singles led by Kim Pennington and Families in Ministry led by Frances Garrett. Our Worship leader was Mary Jane Cargile, Prayer Calendar was led by Maxine Tenbrook and our speaker was Linda Evans. We had 72 in attendance. Fifteen churches from the Heart of Kansas Association and two churches from South Central Association. We had 3 children for childcare. Diana Dalton and her daughter from South Central Association took care of the childcare. We collected sleeping bags for the homeless and Christian books for the jail ministry. Thank you to all the ladies who helped make this a good meeting. Thank you to Metropolitan Baptist Church for hosting the conference. Thank you to Perfect Peace Bookstore for the bags. Thank you to all the WMU Council for help in planning this event.
