We held our Women's Annual Meeting on April 30 at Immanuel Hillside. Thirty-eight women attended. Ronda Besco from the Omaha Baptist Center was our guest speaker and Far Nita Dunbar was our worship leader. It was a very inspiring meeting. Mark Jackson of the Heart of Kansas spoke about the evangelistic opportunities for the Wichita River Festival. We collected Christian books for the jail ministry.
Our table decorations were inspired by the seasons. Each table represented a month and each lady was asked to sit at the table that represented her birthday. We had a wonderful time of fellowship.
The next WMU Council meeting will be June 18 at the HOKSBA office from 9:30 a.m. to noon. We will be finalizing the plans for our second Annual Women's Meeting to be held July 30 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. It is going to be a great time for all. Leaders from our state Convention are scheduled to lead our many new conferences this year.
Our ministry project for this year will be the Wichita Baptist Homeless Ministries, Inc. We are asking all of our attendees to bring sleeping bags and blankets.
We have a full slate of officers this year. If you need help with missions in your church, please call on us to help you.
