Transformation Is Our Goal

Sunday School is our place for people to gather to study scripture. As we see how our lives fit with what we study, we see ways that God would have us change. We have recently celebrated Thanksgiving but we have the opportunity to give thanks every day for the things that God places in our life. People who see our lives can be challenged to know why we are "thanks living" in all circumstances. That gives us the opening to share Christ.

We are entering a time when many people will be celebrating Christmas without knowing Jesus as their Savior. This is a good time to invite people to be part of your Sunday School class. Invite Adults and Youth to a class Christmas party where they can experience fellowship and begin to build relationships which will lead them to know that God loves them. The greatest gift we can give anyone is to lead them to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. Who is your Sunday School class praying to know about Jesus? Remember that Sunday School is the evangelism arm of our churches.

Enrolling children in Sunday School is important. We have the privilege of helping children to learn the Bible during the early years. Parents can have help from their adult quarterlies to help carry the Sunday Study through the week. The children's material is age appropriate. If you would like to have a brochure that gives the Levels of Biblical Learning, call me at 683-3042. This provides the concepts about God, Jesus, Bible, Creation, Family, Self, Church, and Community and World from birth through sixth grade. For First through Sixth grade, there is age level learning for the Holy Spirit and Salvation. Keeping children in Sunday School enables the Holy Spirit to convict them of the need for a Savior early in life. We have a great opportunity to reach children and their parents for the Lord.

May we be found faithful.
