Flight School 2004
Our Sunday School training this year involved training for those teaching bed babies through adults. The evangelism sessions with Roy Moody and Ken James were well received. We heard good comments about many of the classes. Our planning for next year will begin soon. We will use the evaluations turned in to help us know how to plan for next year. If you have ideas or suggestions, please call me at 683-3042.
We need to remember that our Sunday School roll is actually our ministry list. Both on Sunday and during the week, we need to stay in contact to encourage people and to know about ministry needs. Sunday School is vital to the health of each and every congregation. Sunday School is where relationships are nurtured. What we study on Sunday during our Bible study time will encourage us to see ways to relate to others during the week.
Great VBS Opportunity for 2005
Our state convention has a new partnership with the Arkansas Baptist Convention. They want to send teams to Kansas to help in ministry. We want our churches to be among those to request early. The teams would like to partner with a church for several years to build relationships. We are proposing that you look at your calendar to determine NOW when you want to have VBS next summer. Our vision is to have teams, perhaps three, to work with your church. One week there would be a team to prayer walk and help deliver flyers. The next week there would be help for you to have VBS. The following week, there would be a team to help you follow up on those families involved in your VBS.
Your responsibilities would be to have marked maps of the area to prayer walk as well as flyers to be delivered. Determine if you need the team to bring the literature or only part of it. Think about the teams' lodging. Would it be at church, Shiloh, or a motel? We are looking at a block of time from June 13 through the end of July. Let us know what you are planning. We want every congregation to have a VBS this year. The partnership with Arkansas is an answer to prayer for how to staff one for each congregation. Look at your calendar, determine a date, and give me a call.
