Flight School Changes

The Sunday School Committee has been evaluating recent Flight Schools. There are several changes. We will have only Monday night, September 18, and it will be from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Keith Wilkinson will be the keynote speaker to begin the evening. There will be two breakout sessions following the general session. There will be conferences for everyone, not just leadership. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend. This will be a good training opportunity for everyone in your Sunday School.

There is a change in the material for Preteens this year. It is excellent and you will want your leadership to have the opportunity for training. This material acknowledges that Preteens are not just older children or younger teens. They are a category to themselves and this material meets those needs. There will be a special two hour elective during the afternoon of the Jumpstart training on VBX, the Preteen material.

Arctic Edge: Where Adventure Meets Courage

I trust your VBS planning has begun. We're going to have a great time learning about the Arctic and people in the Bible who had courage.

The training opportunities have changed this year. We will not have Early Bird training in the association. Most of those wanting early training have been going to the state Jumpstart in Salina. Churches are once again invited to that training. Information has been mailed to the churches about Jumpstart. If you have questions, you can call me at 683-3042. Pastor's training will be done by Kelly Randolph in the Minister's Conference March 21, 2006. There will be one night of training for

Directors, Preschool, Children's Bible Study, Crafts and Music. The training will be Thursday, April 6 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church.

I have been receiving calls from Arkansas about helping churches with VBS. Let me know if you need help with VBS. I was pleased to hear from one of our churches that would like to help another church in our association. It is always good to see that churches have shared decorations with other churches. Last year we had one set of decorations that served five churches.

I look forward to visiting your VBS. Please let me know when you have yours planned so I can stop by briefly to experience the fun.
