Planning For The New Year
Sunday School: Jean Edwards
Saturday, January 1, 2005
This is a good time to look back at goals made for this Sunday School year. What do you have planned for 2005? We need to follow up on those who came to Sunday School or church the next week after being with us.
Learning about ministry needs is important. People need to know that we really care about them and not just whether they will be in Sunday School or church on Sunday. Most people need the bridge of friendship to be built before they are open to the Gospel. Many people are just thinking about religion and not about having a personal relationship with Jesus. Seeing how we live our lives will help them come to the point of asking questions so we can share who Jesus is to us. Each of us has people the Lord allows us to encounter in our daily lives. We need to ask the Lord to help us speak to them.
Now would be a good time to plan for a high attendance Sunday. A six-week focus on bringing people could end on Easter with High Attendance Day. We need to look for people who are in need of a relationship with Jesus and a church home where they can be nurtured.
