Flight School Training

Our Flight school training was well received this year. Some thought it was the best we had had in three years. It was good to see the enthusiasm of people as they spoke about what they had heard. Our planning team did an excellent job of contacting churches to know what kind of training people wanted and then finding well-qualified people to lead the training. We will miss Tom Freeman. The Lord has called Tom to pastor Grace Southern Baptist Church in Guymon, Oklahoma. Tom has served on the planning team for the past three years as well as teaching conferences each year. I appreciate Tom's heart and dedication to serve the association in the area of Sunday School. We will miss him on the planning team.

We are entering into a special time of holidays. I hope that this year will be one when each of our Sunday Schools will reach out to those in need both physically and spiritually. It is sad to realize that this time until the end of the year is the lowest for reaching people for Christ. We need to encourage everyone in our Sunday School to look for someone they can bring with them for Bible study on Sunday. The original plan for Sunday School was for it to be the evangelistic arm of the church. To that end, every class was encouraged to have half the members be people who were in need of a personal relationship with Jesus. Our churches often have special musical services or a drama during December. That could be a good first time event for someone who doesn't usually go to church. Perhaps you could have some of your Sunday School class members go with you and your guest for coffee or dessert after the event. Most people are brought to the Lord through a friendship. Another social type opportunity could be a Christmas party your class will be having. Look for people you see in your regular routine activities to begin building a relationship so you can extend an invitation for them to join you in Bible study. God always blesses our efforts. As we are faithful, He gives the increase.
