Disciplemaking A Priority

Monday, January 1, 2007

Jesus left us with a command that we know as The Great Commission. We are His disciples today so we need to go into our individual worlds to share the Gospel and to teach people to live by all of Gods commands. Many people see The Great Commission as something for missionaries that will serve in other parts of the Home Mission or International Mission fields. We are missionaries in our neighborhoods, where we work or shop or go to school. The large majority of people who come to church come because a friend brought them.

Recently, I heard that 98% of Southern Baptists have never lead anyone to the Lord. The United States is third in the world's most lost nations. We would never think that a new born baby should be placed in a crib with bottles of milk for a week and expect to come back in a week and find a healthy growing baby.

That seems to be what often is experienced by new believers. We need to be equipped to be disciplemakers. To that end, your Sunday School Committee is planning a special Disciplemaking Conference for every Sunday School member. Plan now to be a part of this special day.

It's that time of year to be planning for your VBS!

Our Early Bird Training time will be with the State Training in Salina, KS March 10, 2007. Our graded training will be April 2007. The Pastors training will be during a Minister's Conference. Let me hear from you if you would like another church to join with you so your church has the leadership needed for VBS.

Each church has the opportunity for concentrated Bible study for regular attending children. It is also a great opportunity for reaching unchurched families.

Enlisting those who will do follow up the week following VBS would help you to reach those unchurched families. Call me at 683-3042 so I know the needs you have. The
