Real Women, Real Faith, Real Leaders
News:
Sunday, January 1, 2006
Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will host the annual Women's Leadership Consultation "Real Women, Real Faith and Real Leaders," on Feb. 9-11, 2006. The conference is designed to offer practical advice and strengthen women who serve in volunteer or full-time leadership positions in their local church.
"Highlighting the beauty of the Lord in the lives of women, this conference will strengthen and encourage women in their personal walk with the Lord and equip them to establish the work God has given them in their ministry," said Denise Wilder, program coordinator for the event. "The conference will also allow women to network and meet with other women with similar ministry responsibilities offering valuable advice and resources of information."
The annual conference rotates among the Southern Baptist Convention's six seminary campuses and includes nationally-recognized speakers such as this year's Ferguson, director of Women's Ministries at The Church on Pinnacle Hills in Rogers, Ark.
Conference workshops will be lead by nine guest speakers including: Rhonda Kelley, professor of Women's Ministry, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; Jaye Martin, women's evangelism strategist of the North American Mission Board; Vivian McCaughan, Women's Mission Union and Ministry specialist of the Missouri Baptist Convention; and Chris Adams, Women's Enrichment Ministry specialist, LifeWay Church Resources.
Topics covered during the conference include:
- How to honestly live out real faith in the trenches of life
- How to overcome false notions in fulfilling ministry roles
- The Basics of Women's Ministry
- Involving the Uninvolved
- Counseling Hurting Women
- Planning for the Future
- Developing Leadership Skills and Effective Teams
- How to Handle Criticism and Difficult People
