Midwestern Seminary Offers Local Extension Courses in Wichita

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS) announces classes are currently forming for Fall, 2005. Courses will be offered at the Heart of Kansas Associational Office, 3474 South Meridian, Wichita, KS.

Courses currently enrolling are as follows:

  • Basic Evangelism (MN 5200) - A study of the philosophy, nature, and practice of evangelism, both in the personal life of the minister and the corporate life of the church. Dates: 08/22-10/10. Time: Mondays 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 1:00-4:00 p.m. Credit: 3 hours. Taught by Dr. Tom Johnston, assistant professor of evangelism at MBTS.

  • Topic: Church Planting and Revitalization (MS 7021) - An introduction to church planting, giving emphasis to the biblical and strategic foundations of planting a New Testament church. Dates: approximately 10/15-10/19 during the fall break. The exact times and dates are being worked out. Taught by Dr. Rodney Harrison, assistant professor of church planting at MBTS.

  • History of Christianity I (HT 3100) - A study of the history of Christianity from its beginnings to the Renaissance. Dates: 10/24-12/19. Time: Mondays 5:30-9:30 p.m. Credit: 3 hours. Taught by Dr. Jim Anderson, associate professor of biblical studies at MBTS and dean of the Midwestern Baptist College, SBC.
