The 7th Annual HOKSBA Fellowship Golf Tournament was held at Hesston Golf Park on Saturday, April 28th. We had 86 golfers, duffers, and hackers out for this event aimed at pulling our association together. The fellowship was absolutely GREAT! We probably had the best weather day that we have ever had. The sun was shining, with a slight breeze and the temperature around 70-75 degrees. It was really a wonderful day! After the golf we gathered for lunch. There we enjoyed some really good food and some more GREAT fellowship. Brother Cody Busby, Pastor at 1st Baptist Church in Mulvane, shared a few moments with us from God's Word. We had lots of winners.

Once again there were lots of door prizes, some were presented at check-in and then there were others drawn at the luncheon (you had to be present to win). Some of the door prizes drawn for at the luncheon (for those of you who didn't stick around) included a round of golf for two with cart at Sand Creek Station, a round of golf for four with cart at Twin Lakes (McConnell AFB), Braeburn, Hesston, Reflection Ridge, Willowbend, Terrydyne, and Tallgrass. and a set of 4 tickets to the Kansas City Royals with seats in the first row behind the Royals dugout. This year there were 2 Grand Prize Door Prizes. One included a 2-night stay at the Warren Family, LLC Condo in a Branson, a round of golf for 2 at Thousand Hills, and 2 tickets to 2 Branson shows. The other Grand Prize Door Prize included a 1-week stay in a Branson condo (complements of Elk Creek Trucking), a round of golf for two at Branson Creek, 3 sets of 2 tickets to Branson shows. All of the door prizes were donated by companies or individuals and we really appreciate their generosity. A special thanks to the committee for organizing this event - Charley Powell (Tournament Director), Ross Searl, Leo Helsel, John LaFever, Ted Eubanks, Roger Simpson, and Rick Bailey, GREAT JOB! We plan on repeating this event again next spring (tentatively scheduled for the last Saturday in April 2008) - see you then.
