On June 6, 2008, Pete and I sat, to watch again, the movie "Saving Private Ryan" in remembrance of June 6, 1944, D-Day - The day on which the Invasion of Normandy began. Sadly, this means little to so many Americans today. Over 850,000 troops were involved in the invasion, and tens of thousands lost their lives on those beaches that day. It was not until mid-July that the Allied forces were able to break through the German lines. Historians say a definitive death toll will likely never be known.

If you have never heard the prayer that Franklin D. Roosevelt led the nation in during WWII, you should take the time to read it. In the prayer, he asks that Almighty God might give our soldiers steadfastness in their faith. He spoke of faith several times throughout his great prayer. It made me think about Hebrews 11, the chapter on faith, where the writer lists the different people of the Bible who exhibited great faith. We too have an awesome opportunity in these last days to exhibit such faith and steadfastness. One way is through CWJC. There can be many obstacles in building and maintaining a CWJC site, but with faith and steadfastness it can grow and be used to tell many of their need for Christ.

If you or your church would be interested in helping women in need become equipped for life and employment through job-readiness classes, computer classes, GED training on Bible study and mentoring, please contact me and I will be glad to assist you in beginning a CWJC site.
