6th Annual HOKSBA Fellowship Golf Tournament

Saturday, July 1, 2006

The 6th Annual HOKSBA Fellowship Golf Tournament was held at Hesston Golf Park on Saturday, April 29th. We had 106 golfers, duffers, and hackers out for this event. The fellowship was absolutely GREAT! After the golf we gathered for lunch. We enjoyed some really good food and some more GREAT fellowship. Brother Michael Scott, Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Center, shared with us from God's Word. We had lots of winners.

Once again there were lots of door prizes, including a new driver, a new golf bag, a free round of golf for four at Hesston, a round of golf for four at Reflection Ridge, and a set of four tickets to the Kansas City Royals with seats in the first row behind the Royals dugout. This year there were two Grand Prize Door Prizes. One included a two-night stay in a Branson hotel and a round of golf for two in Branson. The other included a two-night stay in a Branson condo, a round of golf for four at one of Branson's finest golf courses, and tickets to a live show. All of the door prizes were donated by companies or individuals and we really appreciate their generosity. A special thanks to the committee for organizing this event - Charley Powell (Tournament Director), Leo Helsel, John LaFever, Neil Long, and Ross Searl, GREAT JOB! We plan on repeating this event again next spring (tentatively scheduled for the last Saturday in April 2007) - see you then.

Based on the overwhelming response received on the comment cards, we will be planning a two-person scramble in the fall. The date and course have not yet been decided upon. Watch the newsletter for details.
