Homeless People are People, Too!

Tuesday, January 25, 2005

We would like to thank all the wonderful volunteers who helped make our Christmas dinner a success. Because of your efforts, we were able to offer a holiday meal and a time of fellowship to 98 people on Christmas day. The message of our Savior was presented. Volunteers drove vans to pick up our guests, helped prepare and serve the meal and helped organize and distribute gifts to everyone. Eighty-seven people gave of their time and all received a blessing from the Lord.

Riverview Baptist Church helped provide canned goods and back packs. Many others donated clothes, blankets and food. All of these items were distributed to those in need.

Homelessness is an ongoing problem in our culture. With the recent bad weather and our Christmas celebration, our supplies are depleted. If you or your church or mission group is looking for a project, we can always use backpacks as well as sleeping bags or blankets. Financial support is always a need. We will soon be starting a Computer Basics course at our new office at 417 S. Hydraulic.
