The Election

Wednesday, December 1, 2004

PRAISE THE LORD-THE ELECTION IS OVER!! We live in a great nation! It is only by God's grace that we are able to enjoy the fruits and freedom of such magnitude. We can pray unhindered, preach without interference and proselytize without being prohibited. God is very good to America! How can we show Him our gratitude?

  • Boldly and publicly, with humility, declare our faith to all who will listen that Jesus saves!
  • Be faithful to bring friends and family to church to hear the gospel.
  • Become committed tithers to support the work of the Lord through the church.
  • Be aware of the fact that we can only reach people for the Lord by building relationships with the lost rather that worrying about what style of worship we have.

The church made a difference in this election. My prayer is that we will also make a difference after the balloting is over by transforming the hearts of our communities with the gospel. Bill Hull has written, "The wrong question for the church is, 'How many people are present?' The right question is, 'What are these people like?' After people become Christians, the goal is for them not only to learn how to live like Christ but to actually live like Christ." Our urgent need is to make disciples in the church! May God strengthen and bless each church as you go about the one task God has assigned the church.
