The annual associational meeting will be held on November 6, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. We will meet at Metro East Baptist Church, 333 N 143rd St. E., in Wichita. An exciting presentation is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

This year's meeting will include a meal provided by the Disaster Relief teams from KNCSB and HOKSBA. The meal will be free and be prepared and served by the disaster relief workers as they would do it in time of crisis. They will begin serving at 5:30, so be sure to come in time to eat.

The HOKSBA has purchased a shower trailer to be used by the Disaster Relief teams of Kansas and Nebraska as well as for our own local use. It will be on display, if it arrives on time, for the meeting.

Elmo Brawly from Pleasantview Baptist Church will be presenting the progress made by our local team in preparation to utilize the trailer and how people can participate in all aspects of this great ministry. This is a great witnessing tool and lets people see that Baptists are helping people with physical and spiritual needs.

Another special presentation is going to be made by the "Set Free" organization. This organization helps people get off the streets and be freed from addictions by leading them to receive Christ and then discipling them for a concentrated period of time. Their statement about themselves is as follows:

SET FREE: A MOVEMENT OF GOD. "A church planting movement is a rapid multiplication of indigenous churches within a population segment (people group, city and/or county). It is evident that only God can start a church planting movement. Church planting movements seem to be God's way of racing ahead of the exploding number of lost people that are being added to the world's population every day."

This is a church planting organization that disciples the converts to become pastors and leaders in churches started by the harvest of fallen drug users, prostitutes and homeless people God saves. This organization is highly esteemed by our own state convention and the California state convention.

A businessman in Wichita has offered to donate a house on North Topeka to the HOKSBA for the purpose of making it the headquarters for the Set Free ministries. You will be voting on whether to receive this property and house to be used for Set Free ministries during our annual meeting. Please pray about this matter to be sure we have God's mind about this opportunity.
