It's time again for our Annual Association Meeting. We will be meeting at Immanuel Baptist Church in the Christian Life Center next to the gym. The meeting is Monday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m.
The year has flown by as we have seen God working in so many areas. We have seen some churches disband and others being planted. Some of the exciting church plants we see God bringing about are in Goddard and on the WSU campus. Both of these works are seen to be supernatural works of God.
The church plant at WSU is being led by Brad Simmons who has been drafted by the international students. Southwind Fellowship has graciously sent this group out to follow God's leading. Let me say this is an act of sacrificial giving by Southwind because the international students were the biggest participants in leading worship at the church. God will bless both fellowships as the Spirit of giving is seen from each body.
God has blessed us with staff changes also this year. God led Brad Brisco to Kansas City as their Church Planter Strategist and brought Mark Jackson to continue here in that area. We are excited that the association has called Loren Phippen to be our Nehemiah Church Planter and Evangelism Leader.
I want to thank everyone for your prayers and support as I had back surgery. The cards truly encouraged me and the prayers have speeded my recovery. I had surgery September 26 and retuned to the office part-time on October 12, 2005. According to the doctor, it will take 6 months to a year for a full recovery but I should be serving in the office all day by the time you receive this newsletter. I still have to walk carefully and can only lift very little weight. Thank you again for your prayers.
