The Minister's Conference is back on track and will be meeting regularly again. This meeting is open to any pastor, staff or layperson from our churches. It is held at noon every Tuesday unless we have a special guest that can only be here on Monday. It is held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita at 1415 S. Topeka. Please notify Immanuel if you plan to eat, if you are not already on the list. The phone number for Immanuel is 316-262-1452.
Please continue to pray that the constitutional marriage amendment will be placed on the ballot in April of this year. Let me urge everyone to solicit people to vote in April so that it will pass. The citizens of Kansas should be allowed to vote on this important issue.
The Focus for Living Retreat process is still on the front burner of what we are emphasizing at the Heart of Kansas. This process is designed to help churches that are declining or plateaued to refocus on what their mission and vision is. The Refocus for Living Retreat has not side tracked us from having a priority of starting new works.
To bring you up to date on another area of activity, I want to inform you that the Grace Southern Baptist Church disbanded and deeded their property to the association. The deed of Grace Southern's property stipulated that if the church ever ceased being a church that the property would go to the association.
We do have plans, people and possibilities of starting another work in Goddard soon. We have a Nehemiah project person already visiting in that area and attempting to start a Bible study. Please pray for the project.
