Good Neighbor Centers

On April 2nd we had a meeting with most of the Good Neighbor Center's staff. This meeting was held to introduce all of the centers and to learn of the needs of each in order to help one another. On the day of the meeting, two churches from Arkansas showed up with 3,060 pounds of food for our GNC's. One of the churches represented had a food drive called "2009 Cans for 2009". They used this theme to encourage people in their church to help our GNC's. One of our GNC's was down to just enough food for 5 families when this donation showed up. How about taking the challenge of 2009 Cans for 2009 to your church? If we had 12 churches or more in our association that did a food drive one month a year, with the goal of 2,000 plus pounds of food, this would go a long way in meeting the rapidly increasing need for food in our community.
