Evangelism Summary

Wednesday, November 1, 2006

By the time you get this issue of the Heart Beat I will have been here at HOKSBA for exactly one year. First I want to thank you for calling me as the Director of Evangelism/Nehemiah Church Planter. This has been a great year for Gail and me in the ministry. I have had the privilege of working with over 12 of our churches in evangelism. Most of the work has been door-to-door but we have had some special events and done street evangelism also.

We had a great time at the River Festival this year and saw over 140 confessions of faith. God has also opened the door for me to work in the Sedgwick County Detention facilities. I preach, do Bible studies and conduct ministry visits in the county jail. I also do chaplain visits, teach Bible studies and share with a big group on Friday nights at the Juvenile facilities and God just opened the door for me to do chaplain visits at the boy's ranch. I truly believe God has opened the doors and led me to these ministries so as to be able to encourage and lead others to serve there also.

There are numerous opportunities for you to serve. God wants to use us to make a difference in these lives. The only way for them to come to a saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ is to see that in our lives and hear us share with them. We have the opportunity to be used and to see lives and families changed.

God has given me the heart to use these various ministries in my Doctor of Ministry project. My plan is to use this project and the detention ministries to train and equip members to share and minister to the needy and imprisoned. You will be hearing more about that soon. From October 1, 2005 up to September 27, 2006, I have had the privilege of praying with 386 people to accept Christ as their person savior. This has been as a result of door-to-door and street evangelism, and work in the detention facilities. I have had the privilege of discipling many and referring many to our churches. God will open the door for us to share the Gospel and see the harvest if we are obedient.
