Disaster Relief Committee

How many of you have watched all the disasters this year and remarked that you would like to do more to help? We have also heard the stories of how much churches, especially Southern Baptist Churches, have done. Lives have been changed because we have been faithful to lovingly minister to people in crisis. A new committee has been formed and approved by HOKSBA executive board called the HOKSBA Disaster Relief Committee. The chairman of this committee is Bill Riley and he can be reached at 316-788-3466 or wsriley53@msn.com or contact Elmo Brawley at 316 788-1237 or brawley@onemain.com. The goal of the committee is to have two disaster relief trailers up and going as soon as possible. Preferably, one of them by the end of the year. One trailer would be set up as a shower trailer with four stalls and hookups for washer and dryer and the other trailer would be set up as a chainsaw recovery trailer. Both of these could be taken anywhere to minister, including tornado disasters in our own area. To get this project going, the committee has agreed to ask our churches and/or individuals to give to the HOKSBA Disaster Relief Fund. We feel that to get things going our goal needs to be $25,000 by the end of 2006. Please contact Bill if you have any questions. And please prayerfully consider how you can help in this Kingdom work.
